G'day music feeders. Another week goes past and another weekend of sweet Australian music approaches. The fun just never stops etc. Here's what you should stuff your ears and eyes with over the next couple of days...
100 w/ Elizabeth Fader
Sydney gems 100 have been lighting up the Lansdowne front bar the last few Thursdays, if you haven't seen it yet, you should get your pretty ass down there, if you've already copped one, then don't be selfish, collect more of your friends and strangers off the street and share the raw power that is 100. Go on.
Thursday, August 22nd @ The Landsdowne, Sydney
The Damned w/ Wurst Nurse
One of the best bands in early punk history are headed to Australia this week to treat us with their straight up and down, balls to the wall, timeless sound. The Damned! The god-damned Damned are coming. With the Sydney show already sold out, and with Brisbane and Melbourne not far behind, you'll be wanting to jump on this one pretty quick. We've always gotta feel pretty lucky when we have a band of such calibre make the trip across the world to play for us and when they're getting this old, you just can't be sure when it will be the last time. These guys forged the way in the early days of punk in the UK and set the bar for the bands that would follow.
One of the most in your face and hard hitting Australian bands at the moment, Wurst Nurse, have scored the support, which is more than a fit. They stand as a symbol of what The Damned forged with their own music.

Strawberry Boogie w/ Totty, Raave Tapes, Party Dozen, Surf Trash + More
Wollongong has really gained a name for itself over the last decade or so as being a seriously music focused town, putting on ripper gigs, DIY festivals, actual festivals and boozy Sunday sessions. This weekend is no exception. Strawberry Boogie fest is celebrating it's fourth year and they've got a host of awesome bands to help them pop it off. For the headline acts they've got Novocastrians, Raave Taapes are swapping coal towns for the night, local grunge-lords Totty are running a home show and genre-bending maniacs Party Dozen are taking a little weekend getaway from the big-smoke in Sydney. All in all it sounds like a ripper way to drink beers on a Friday.
Friday, August 23rd @ UOW Uni Bar, Wollongong
Dumb Punts w/ Fuzz Sucker + Little Elizabeth
The darlings of the Melbourne scene Dumb Punts are popping out of their lairs this Friday for a show. They put on one of the funnest, most endearing and wholesome live shows going around, and they've been putting them on for quite a while now. Bringing along aptly named Fuzz Sucker and groovesters Little Elizabeth, the night is shaping up to be somewhat of a foot stomper, booty shaker kind of scenario. If you're a Melbourne local then get down there and support the home team, or if you're going to be in the self-named cultural capital for the weekend then head to Yah-Yahs to get a glimpse into this said culture. You're welcome.
Friday, August 23rd @ Yah Yahs, Fitzroy, Melbourne
Pretty Littles w/ Floodlights
The Pretty Littles are fantastic guys with a fantastic band that plays fantastic music. They teeter the line between a few micro-genres and have managed to really define their own distinct sound that is pressing and enjoyable at the same time.
They're bringing along some fresh Melbourne talent Floodlights who have been pricking up ears over the past few months with their rip-snorter of a debut EP.
If you've been at the Dumb Punts gig the night before, you may as well find a nice comfy spot in the corner, curl up, have a power nap and then wake up, get a beer and power on through the Pretty Littles. Don't be a baby, just get on with it.
Saturday, August 24th @ Yah Yahs, Fitzroy, Melbourne
